The softening system in the rubber V-belt can improve the plasticity, fluidity, adhesion, etc. of the rubber, promote the dispersion of powdery compounding agents, and improve the rubber processing performance; the appropriate amount of reclaimed rubber in the raw rubber can also improve the processing performance of the raw rubber. Therefore, the use of black natural reclaimed rubber can not only reduce the production cost of rubber V-belts, but also improve the rubber operation process. Rubber V-belts mainly include cloth-covered rubber, tensile rubber, cord rubber, compression rubber, cord dipping, etc. Different rubber layers have different softening systems.

1. Softening system of cloth wrapping glue

The role of rubber V-belt cloth covering glue is to connect various parts and protect other parts from abrasion. It is mainly wrapped by hanging rubber canvas and has adhesion, abrasion resistance, heat resistance, aging resistance, and flexibility to the rubber. And adhesiveness is required. When black natural reclaimed rubber is used to produce rubber V-belts, a softening system composed of aromatic oil, pine tar oil, and coumarone resin 2LLYY1116 is often used to improve the adhesion of the rubber. It should be noted that the amount of softener should not be too much to avoid the problems of low plasticity and sticky tape.

In actual production, the plasticity of the latex reclaimed rubber/natural rubber or latex reclaimed rubber/natural rubber/styrene butadiene rubber compound is generally controlled between 0.5-0.6, which can provide a good operating basis for subsequent calendering and rubbing. The softening system can be used in combination with two or more softening agents to better adjust the plasticity of the combined rubber.

2. Cord rubber softening system

Rubber V-belt cord fabric glue is the skeleton layer in the V-belt. It needs to have good adhesion with the cord fabric. Reasonable use of softeners can improve the adhesiveness of the rubber. When using black natural reclaimed rubber to reduce the raw material cost of V-belt cord fabric rubber, aromatic oil, solid coumarone, pine tar and benzofuran resin are mostly used in the softening system of the formula. Among them, benzofuran resin is polymerized by benzofuran monomer, which is a commonly used adhesive in the production of rubber products, which can play a dual role of softening and increasing adhesion.

3. Compression layer softening system

The rubber V-belt compression layer glue needs to support the V-belt core layer and withstand periodic compression. It requires the rubber material to have high hardness and good adhesion to the cord; therefore, the compounding agent in the softening system must be used correctly and controlled. Dosage to avoid the problem of too low hardness or low viscosity. When using natural reclaimed rubber to prepare low-cost rubber V-belt compression layer rubber, a small amount of engine oil is generally used, which can not only improve the elasticity and adhesion of the rubber, but also ensure the sufficient hardness of the compressed rubber.

Compared with light-colored natural reclaimed rubber, the price of black latex reclaimed rubber is lower, and the production of black rubber V-belts is more cost-effective. When using black natural reclaimed rubber to prepare each layer of rubber V-belts, rubber product manufacturers must reasonably adjust the rubber product formula, especially the vulcanization system, reinforcement system and softening system. Later, the editor will have the opportunity to continue to share with you the formula design skills of rubber V-belt stretch layer rubber, cord dipping rubber and other rubber layers containing recycled latex.
