The natural latex reclaimed rubber processed from natural rubber waste rubber cups, rubber threads, waste natural rubber products and waste latex products retains the basic performance characteristics of natural rubber, and can directly replace natural rubber or be used in combination with natural rubber and general synthetic rubber to produce rubber. Products can effectively reduce the cost of raw materials on the premise of ensuring quality. In actual production, rubber product manufacturers pay attention to the hydrocarbon content of reclaimed rubber when choosing latex reclaimed rubber. Why?

1. What are rubber hydrocarbons

The rubber hydrocarbon, cis-polyisoprene, is an essential component of natural rubber or its latex. In natural rubber, the content of rubber hydrocarbons is  92% and 95%, which directly determines the main properties of natural rubber; other non-rubber hydrocarbon components are proteins, acetone extract, ash, water-soluble and moisture. The higher the content of rubber hydrocarbons in natural rubber, the lower the impurity content, the better the physical and mechanical properties of rubber hydrocarbons.

2. The influence of rubber hydrocarbon content on the quality of latex reclaimed rubber

Latex reclaimed rubber, as the desulfurization regeneration product of waste natural rubber and waste natural rubber products, retains its internal components and performance characteristics, and rubber hydrocarbon is one of its main components. In the natural latex reclaimed rubber 2ELYY511, the rubber hydrocarbon content has a great influence on the quality of the reclaimed rubber. The higher the rubber hydrocarbon content, the better the quality of the reclaimed rubber. In actual production, the rubber hydrocarbon content in high-quality natural reclaimed rubber can reach more than 75%, which can replace more natural rubber and reduce the cost of rubber products.

3. The influence of other ingredients on the performance of latex reclaimed rubber

In addition to rubber hydrocarbons, latex reclaimed rubber also contains acetone extract, ash, moisture, etc.

(1) Influence of acetone extract on the properties of latex reclaimed rubber

The main components of acetone extract are higher fatty acids and sterols. Higher fatty acid is a vulcanization active agent, which can promote vulcanization and increase the plasticity of the rubber compound; sterols and some highly reducing substances have an aging effect. The substances that can be extracted by acetone in the latex reclaimed rubber are called acetone extracts. When the extraction amount is too high, it is easy to cause sticking rollers in the rubber mixing process, resulting in operational difficulties and pollution to rubber products.

(2) The effect of ash on the properties of latex reclaimed rubber

The main components of ash are calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, iron, phosphorus and other inorganic salt compounds. These substances have high water absorption, which will reduce the electrical insulation of the product. Accelerates the aging rate of rubber. The main sources of ash in latex reclaimed rubber are inorganic fillers, metal impurities and sand in waste rubber. The aging performance of the glue decreases.

(3) Influence of moisture on the properties of latex reclaimed rubber

When using reclaimed rubber to produce rubber products, there is too much water in the reclaimed rubber, which is not only easy to mold during storage, but also affects the processing performance of the reclaimed rubber. It is easy to generate air bubbles during the process, and it is easy to generate air bubbles or sponges during the vulcanization process. In actual production, moisture within 1% can be removed during the processing of reclaimed rubber. If the moisture content is too high, it is recommended to dry it in advance, or use an appropriate amount of hygroscopic agent.

In actual production, reclaimed rubber will also contain fibers, chloroform extracts, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, etc., including acetone extracts, ash, moisture and other non-rubber hydrocarbon substances. When the content of these non-rubber hydrocarbon substances increases, the content of rubber hydrocarbons decreases relatively, and the quality of reclaimed rubber decreases. . Therefore, manufacturers who use latex reclaimed rubber to produce rubber products will take the effective rubber hydrocarbon content of natural latex reclaimed rubber as an important parameter to measure the quality of reclaimed rubber.
