1. The advantages of using tire recycled rubber in the rigid rubber battery shell

The reasonable use of tire recycled rubber in the shell of rigid rubber batteries can not only reduce the cost of raw materials, but also improve the performance of the rubber processing process. Compared with natural rubber and styrene-butadiene rubber, tire recycling rubber has low thermoplasticity, easy to disperse the compound evenly, and has no deformation when vulcanized without support. Tire recycling rubber is used in battery shell compound, which can quickly mix with fillers, vulcanize quickly, and have stable dimensions without shrinkage.

2. Selection skills for the production of compound for battery shells with tire recycled rubber

(1) Vulcanization system compound

When tire recycled rubber is used with styrene-butadiene rubber and natural rubber to produce battery shells, sulfur is generally used, and the amount of sulfur in the formula should take into account the heat resistance and impact resistance of the product. Inorganic and organic accelerators are often used together. Inorganic accelerators are commonly used as magnesium oxide, with a dosage of 5 parts (100 parts of rubber); Organic accelerators are mostly accelerator D as the main accelerator, and accelerator M as the secondary promoter, and the total amount of co-use is generally about 3 copies.

(2) Reinforcement filling system compound

The commonly used fillers in the shell formulation of rigid rubber batteries include terracotta, chalk powder and coal powder, which can generally be mixed with a large amount of acid-resistant fillers, and the dosage can reach 1.5-3.0 times the amount of rubber. The battery shell is filled with pulverized coal, which can make the surface of the product bright, but its heat resistance and impact resistance are inferior to that of clay and white powder.

(3) Softening system compound

When using natural rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber, tire recycled rubber and other rubber materials as the main raw materials to produce rigid rubber battery shells, commonly used softeners are asphalt, petroleum jelly and paraffin, which can make the surface gloss of the product better.

When using tire recycled rubber to reduce the production cost of rigid rubber battery shells, it is not only necessary to design the rubber formula reasonably, but also to adjust the production process appropriately, especially the compounding and vulcanization process. During mixing, the raw rubber E5LYY81 and tire recycled rubber are put into the mixer in proportion to plasticize (such as natural rubber needs to be molded and stored many times), and vulcanizing agents, accelerators, fillers, etc. are added in turn to control the mixing temperature and time to avoid scorching; During vulcanization, the pressure and time need to be strictly controlled to ensure the hardness and dimensional accuracy of the shell.
