Ways to expand the use temperature range of latex reclaimed rubber products

Latex reclaimed rubber has good elasticity, high mechanical strength, and has the basic performance characteristics of natural rubber. It can directly replace natural rubber or be used with natural rubber to produce various rubber products, reducing raw material costs. Latex reclaimed rubber is the same as natural rubber and has poor high temperature resistance. Usually it can only be used at a temperature not exceeding 100°C, which greatly limits its scope of application. In actual production, expanding the use temperature range of reclaimed latex rubber is of great significance to the treatment of waste rubber pollution.

1. Use latex reclaimed rubber together with other rubber

When using latex reclaimed rubber to produce rubber products, use an appropriate amount of rubber with good high temperature resistance in the formula, which can expand the working temperature range of latex reclaimed rubber products to a certain extent. In actual production, latex reclaimed rubber 2YLYY315 can be used together with a suitable amount of isoprene rubber, isoprene reclaimed rubber, styrene butadiene rubber, butadiene rubber and other general rubbers. Among them, isoprene rubber, isoprene reclaimed rubber, and styrene-butadiene rubber can improve the heat resistance of rubber products; together with butadiene rubber can improve the cold resistance of the finished product; and can expand the use temperature range of latex reclaimed rubber products.

In actual production, latex reclaimed rubber can also be used with a small amount of EPDM/reclaimed rubber or butyl rubber/reclaimed rubber to improve the heat resistance of reclaimed rubber products.

2. Adjust the production formula of latex reclaimed rubber products

In the production process of latex reclaimed rubber products, rubber product manufacturers can expand the product temperature range by adjusting the types and amounts of the vulcanization system and the reinforcing and filling system compounding agents in the formula.

(1) Vulcanization system: Latex reclaimed rubber vulcanized with effective vulcanization system or semi-effective vulcanization system has better heat resistance than sulfur vulcanized rubber. When using low-sulfur compounding, control the amount of sulfur to 0.3-0.5 parts, the amount of accelerators to 2-5 parts, and the vulcanized rubber has better heat resistance; or replace the sulfur in the formula with a sulfur donor, using high-promoting, Low sulfur compound, good heat resistance of vulcanized rubber; good heat resistance of peroxide vulcanized rubber, small compression permanent deformation of finished latex reclaimed rubber.

(2) Reinforcing system: increase the amount of inorganic fillers appropriately, such as white carbon black, activated zinc oxide, magnesium oxide, aluminum oxide, silicate, etc. Expanding the use temperature range of light-colored latex reclaimed rubber products can use the above-mentioned light-colored inorganic fillers to improve the heat resistance of the products; black latex reclaimed rubber products can choose soft carbon black, and latex reclaimed rubber vulcanizates have better thermal stability.

Anti-aging agents are not particularly effective in improving the heat resistance of latex reclaimed rubber. Combining heat-resistant anti-aging agents and fatigue-resistant anti-aging agents, such as anti-aging agent A/H, anti-aging agent RD/MB, anti-aging agent 4010/MB, etc., produces a synergistic effect. The heat resistance of reclaimed rubber products can be improved to a certain extent. In actual production, improving the cold resistance of reclaimed latex rubber can also expand the use temperature range of reclaimed latex products.
