Reclaimed rubber is a recycled resource obtained from waste rubber and its products processed through crushing, desulfurization, and other processes, which can be readded to rubber product production to effectively reduce raw material costs. When producing rubber products mainly from reclaimed rubber, the proper use of antioxidants can effectively improve the performance and lifespan of reclaimed rubber products. What issues should be considered when choosing anti-aging agents for reclaimed rubber products? How to design an anti-aging system for reclaimed rubber products?

1. Choose the anti-aging agent according to the usage environment and working conditions of the reclaimed rubber products

When producing rubber products with reclaimed rubber, the main factors causing rubber aging should be identified based on the product's usage environment or working conditions. Priority should be given to anti-aging E6LYY310 agents for key protection, followed by anti-aging agents for general protection. Taking into account the toxicity and cost of rubber antioxidants, when producing white or light-colored rubber products with reclaimed rubber, non-polluting antioxidants should be chosen. When producing rubber products with complex structures using reclaimed rubber, the anti-aging system design should be tailored to the aging factors, degree, and type of aging at different parts.

2. Determine whether anti-aging agents are needed based on the type, structural characteristics, and aging resistance of the reclaimed rubber

Different varieties of reclaimed rubber use different raw materials, resulting in significant differences in aging resistance. When using reclaimed rubber to produce rubber products, if the compound itself has good overall aging resistance and meets the product's usage requirements, there is no need to use anti-aging agents. For example, EPDM reclaimed rubber has excellent aging resistance and can be used in the production of some rubber products without the need for anti-aging agents. When producing rubber products with latex reclaimed rubber and tire reclaimed rubber, anti-aging agents are required.

EPDM reclaimed rubber has excellent resistance to high and low temperatures, ozone resistance, and weather resistance; nitrile reclaimed rubber has excellent oil resistance; butyl reclaimed rubber has good airtightness and corrosion resistance; latex reclaimed rubber has high strength and good elasticity; tire reclaimed rubber is inexpensive. When rubber product manufacturers use reclaimed rubber to reduce costs, they determine the type of reclaimed rubber based on the working environment and physical requirements of the rubber products.

3. For recycled rubber products, choose a combination of two or more anti-aging agents for anti-aging systems

When producing rubber products mainly from reclaimed rubber, to improve the protective effectiveness of antioxidants or avoid frost spraying in certain agents, two or more antioxidants can be used together. The optimal dosage of antioxidants in reclaimed rubber formulations and the proportion of additives among combined varieties are recommended to be determined by preferential testing methods. Excessive addition of antioxidants may cause oxidation aids.

When using reclaimed rubber to produce rubber products, it is essential to comprehensively consider the product's usage environment, basic properties of reclaimed rubber, and production cost budget, scientifically choose the type of antioxidant, and use them reasonably to effectively extend the service life of reclaimed rubber products.
