Petroleum resins are usually used as reinforcing plasticizers in the production and processing of reclaimed rubber to adjust Mooney viscosity and physical and mechanical properties of reclaimed rubber. C5 petroleum resin and C9 petroleum resin are the most common. Different types and different amounts of petroleum resins have different effects on the properties of reclaimed rubber. This paper mainly discusses the effects of C5 and C9 petroleum resins on the properties of reclaimed rubber.

1. The effect of different types of petroleum resins with the same amount on the properties of reclaimed rubber: When the amount of C5 petroleum resin and C9 petroleum resin is the same, the recycling rubber of 1C9 petroleum resin has high curing efficiency; 2 The reclaimed rubber of C9 petroleum resin is added more than C5 petroleum resin The regenerated rubber Mooney viscosity is small; 3C9 petroleum resin reclaimed rubber elongation at break elongation is greater than C5 petroleum resin reclaimed rubber.

2. The amount of petroleum resin varies, and the properties of reclaimed rubber change:

1 The amount of petroleum resin increased, the scorch time of the reclaimed rubber was prolonged, and the processing safety became better; the time of the positive vulcanization time of the reclaimed rubber was prolonged and then shortened with the increase of the amount of the petroleum resin, and the peak value appeared when 100 parts of the regenerated resin petroleum resin was used.

2 The use of petroleum resin increases the Mooney viscosity of reclaimed rubber. When 100 parts of reclaimed rubber is added with 1 part of petroleum resin, the Mooney viscosity of reclaimed rubber decreases significantly.

3 The tensile strength of reclaimed rubber decreases slightly with the increase in the amount of petroleum resin, so the petroleum resin has little effect on the tensile strength of reclaimed rubber.

4 The increase in the amount of petroleum resin increases the elongation at break of reclaimed rubber.

5 The amount of petroleum resin is increasing, and the hardness of reclaimed rubber is continuously decreasing.
