The method of incorporating recycled tire rubber into common rubber sheets

Using waste tire rubber powder as raw material, tire reclaimed rubber processed through desulfurization, filtration, refining, and other processes retains the basic properties of rubber. It can be further vulcanized, has better flow and plasticity, can be used alone or combined with other rubber and plastic materials to produce rubber sheets, effectively reducing raw material costs. Which rubber and plastic materials can tire reclaimed rubber be combined with? What categories of rubber sheets can be produced?

1. Using tire reclaimed rubber alone

Tire recycled rubber has good elasticity, wear resistance, and tear resistance, with high tensile strength and elongation at break. It can meet the basic requirements of ordinary industrial rubber sheets, can be used alone, and effectively reduces the production cost of industrial rubber sheets. When producing rubber sheets entirely with tire recycled rubber, the mechanical strength of the finished industrial rubber sheets can be further improved by adjusting the rubber product formulation, especially the vulcanization system and reinforcement system.

2. Natural rubber, tire recycled rubber

The main components of tire recycled rubber are natural rubber, general synthetic rubber, and carbon black. It is compatible with natural rubber and can be used together with natural rubber in any proportion to produce ordinary industrial rubber sheets, acid- and alkali-resistant rubber sheets such as E5LYY528, effectively reducing costs while ensuring the performance of the finished products. Using a combination of natural rubber and tire recycled rubber to produce acid- and alkali-resistant rubber sheets allows for the substantial filling of barite powder, thereby reducing rubber formulation costs by increasing the volume of the rubber sheets. By modifying to improve the dispersibility of barite powder and the interfacial compatibility, the physical properties and chemical resistance of the rubber sheets can be enhanced.

3. Nitrile rubber tire recycled rubber

Nitrile rubber has excellent oil resistance and is an ideal raw material for producing oil-resistant rubber sheets. When producing oil-resistant rubber sheets with nitrile rubber, adding an appropriate amount of recycled tire rubber can improve the processing performance of the rubber compounds and reduce raw material costs while ensuring the oil resistance of the finished sheets. It should be noted that although recycled tire rubber has good strength, wear resistance, and flexibility, its own oil resistance is weak, so the proportion of recycled rubber used should be controlled, generally among 20% and 50%.

4. Natural rubber, cis-butadiene rubber, polyethylene, recycled tire rubber

Natural rubber has high elasticity and high strength. Styrene-butadiene rubber has better wear resistance and cold resistance. Polyethylene has good chemical stability and certain flexibility. Reclaimed tire rubber is low in price and has stable hydrocarbon properties. Using these four raw materials together can produce general industrial rubber sheets, acid- and alkali-resistant rubber sheets, etc., at low cost. The finished rubber sheets have better elasticity, wear resistance, aging resistance, and chemical corrosion resistance, meeting the needs of more application scenarios.

In actual production, tire reclaimed rubber can also be used together with latex reclaimed rubber, nitrile reclaimed rubber, and neoprene rubber to produce rubber sheets, improving the overall performance of the rubber compound and reducing costs.
