Three ways to improve the heat resistance of reclaimed rubber products by adjusting the formula

The heat resistance of rubber refers to the ability of rubber to maintain its original physical properties under the action of high temperature and long-term thermal aging. When using reclaimed rubber to produce rubber products that need to be used in a high-temperature environment, improving the heat resistance of the reclaimed rubber is of great significance to prolong the service life of the product; a reasonable design of the reclaimed rubber product formula can significantly improve the heat resistance of the product. In actual production, if you want to improve the heat resistance of reclaimed rubber products by adjusting the formula, you may wish to start with the following three approaches.

1. Use heat-resistant rubber

The heat resistance of rubber mainly depends on the molecular structure of rubber. At present, the heat-resistant rubber often used in the rubber product industry includes special rubbers such as ethylene propylene rubber, butyl rubber, chlorinated butyl rubber, and silicone fluorine. In actual production, manufacturers of reclaimed rubber 2YLYY625 products generally choose EPDM reclaimed rubber, butyl reclaimed rubber, etc. to prepare heat-resistant rubber products. To improve the heat resistance of reclaimed rubber products, you can use EPDM raw rubber, butyl raw rubber or chlorinated butyl rubber in an appropriate amount.

To improve the heat resistance of rubber products using natural rubber, tire reclaimed rubber or latex reclaimed rubber as the main raw material, you can use butyl rubber/reclaimed rubber or EPDM rubber/reclaimed rubber in an appropriate amount in the formula, of which EPDM rubber Do not use too much.

2. Adjust the vulcanization system

To improve the heat resistance of reclaimed rubber products, a heat-resistant vulcanization system can be selected to improve the heat resistance of reclaimed rubber vulcanizates. In actual production, different vulcanization systems will form different cross-links, thus forming different vulcanized rubber network structures. The bond energy of various cross-linked bonds is different. In theory, the greater the bond energy, the better the heat resistance of the vulcanizate. The thermal stability of different cross-linked bonds in descending order are: carbon-carbon cross-linked bonds, single-sulfur bonds, and polysulfide bonds. Therefore, the reclaimed rubber vulcanized with peroxide vulcanization has the best heat resistance.

In actual production, EPDM reclaimed rubber is more widely used in heat-resistant rubber. When using EPDM reclaimed rubber to produce heat-resistant rubber products, peroxide vulcanization is often selected, and a small amount of sulfur or other co-crosslinking agents can further improve the mechanical strength and heat resistance of reclaimed rubber products.

3. Adjust the protection system

When using reclaimed rubber to produce rubber products with strict requirements on heat resistance, it is recommended to use high-efficiency heat-resistant antioxidants. When using antioxidants to improve the heat resistance of reclaimed rubber products, the maximum amount of antioxidants is limited by its solubility in the rubber. Therefore, it is not recommended to use a certain antioxidant alone, but to use several antioxidants together. The synergistic effect can further improve the protective effect of antioxidants.

In actual production, different types of reclaimed rubber use different types of antioxidants when producing heat-resistant rubber products.
