Isoprene Reclaimed Rubber is made from unvulcanized isoprene compound rubber, medical bottle caps or stoppers, or isoprene rubber scraps. It is processed through sorting, crushing, desulfurization, filtration, and other procedures. It has characteristics such as good elasticity, high and low temperature resistance, aging resistance, strong adhesion, high elongation at break, and high tear strength. It can be used alone or in combination with natural rubber and synthetic rubber to produce rubber products, effectively reducing raw material costs and improving the processing performance of the rubber compound.

1. Common Applications of Isoprene Reclaimed Rubber

Isoprene reclaimed rubber combines the properties of both natural and synthetic rubber. In rubber product manufacturing, it can partially replace natural rubber without changing its physical properties. It is widely used to reduce the raw material costs of products primarily made from natural rubber or chloroprene rubber. It can also serve as a copolymer monomer for butyl rubber to improve its vulcanization properties.

(1) Key Points in Designing the Vulcanization System for Isoprene Reclaimed Rubber Products

When producing rubber products with isoprene reclaimed rubber as the main raw material, it is recommended to prioritize dispersible accelerators, such as Accelerator M, and avoid or minimize hard-to-dispersing accelerators, such as Accelerator DM. For isoprene reclaimed rubber products requiring high heat resistance, it is recommended to use an effective vulcanization system (e.g., sulfur donors) or a semi-effective vulcanization system. If the rubber product requires high mechanical strength, a sulfur-accelerator system can be used. Avoid simply increasing the amount of curatives; the sulfur and additive dosage should be adjusted according to the hydrocarbon content of the reclaimed rubber.

(2) Key Points in the Mixing Process of Isoprene Reclaimed Rubber Products

When mixing isoprene reclaimed rubber on an open mill, add zinc oxide and fillers first, then accelerators, and add accelerators 1-2 minutes before discharge or after preliminary sheeting. When mixing on an internal mixer, pay attention to the temperature when adding accelerators, sheet and cool in time. During mixing, strictly control the temperature to avoid accelerator decomposition. To ensure uniform dispersion of accelerators, a masterbatch can be prepared, or the mixing process can be adjusted, such as using a two-stage mixing method.
