Case background: Some time ago, Hongyun received a call from a rubber conveyor belt Co., Ltd. in Hebei. The company mainly expressed two meanings on the call: one was to find a reclaimed rubber product suitable for their conveyor belt; the other was to consult Let's see if the adhesive performance of the product will be reduced after adding reclaimed rubber to the conveyor belt adhesive. Through further communication, we learned that the company had just started to use reclaimed rubber in the conveyor belt, but after mixing the reclaimed rubber, it was found that the adhesive strength of the adhesive was not good.

Analysis of the problem: The rubber conveyor belt paste requires good adhesion, fatigue resistance and a certain degree of plasticity (Wizard plasticity is preferably 0.4-0.5), and the adhesion performance is very important. The rubber conveyor belt of this company is mainly composed of natural rubber/styrene-butadiene rubber. It wants to add an appropriate amount of reclaimed rubber to replace the original rubber to reduce the cost. In actual production, the variety and amount of compounding agents in the rubber conveyor belt vulcanization system, reinforcing filling system, softening system and other compounding systems will affect the adhesive performance of the conveyor belt adhesive.

①Conveyor belt adhesives produced with natural rubber and styrene-butadiene rubber as the main raw materials generally use a sulfur vulcanization system. Too much sulfur and accelerators in the vulcanization system lead to excessive vulcanization of the rubber and affect the adhesive strength of the adhesive 2ELYY830; vulcanization The dosage of the system compounding agent is small, the degree of vulcanization is insufficient, and the mechanical properties of the conveyor belt adhesive are reduced, resulting in a decrease in the adhesion performance.

② The compounding agent in the rubber conveyor belt adhesive formula reinforcement filling system is improperly used or the dosage is inappropriate. For example, when the amount of carbon black exceeds a certain limit, the contact area of the rubber molecular chain is too small, which will cause the adhesive performance of the adhesive to decrease; the use of compounding agents such as talcum powder itself will reduce the adhesive strength of the adhesive.

③ The compounding agent in the softening and plasticizing system of the rubber conveyor belt adhesive formula is improperly used or the amount is not appropriate.

Solution: As a rubber raw material, reclaimed rubber will basically not affect the adhesive strength of the conveyor belt as long as the quality can be guaranteed.

From the following three aspects, improve the formula of rubber conveyor belt paste mixed with reclaimed rubber. ①Adjust the vulcanization system of the rubber conveyor belt, and can use a low-sulfur and high-acceleration system. ②Use high wear-resistant carbon black, medium and super wear-resistant carbon black, improve the adhesive performance of conveyor belt by improving the mechanical strength of the rubber compound, and reasonably control the amount of carbon black; avoid using talc powder. ③ Reasonably control the amount of softener, and coordinate the process performance and bonding performance of the rubber compound; it is recommended to use coumarone resin and appropriately increase its amount.

Customer feedback: The user experienced a decrease in the adhesive performance of the rubber after the conveyor belt adhesive was mixed with reclaimed rubber, which was mainly caused by the unreasonable amount of sulfur. When the reclaimed rubber was used for the first time, the amount of sulfur and accelerator was not particularly well controlled. Finally, the appropriate amount of sulfur was adjusted under the suggestion of Hongyun engineer; the company has cooperated with Hongyun now.
